Wayne Quist has advanced degrees from the University of Southern California and The National
War College in Washington, D.C., where he specialized in the Middle East. He retired from the
Air Force in the rank of full colonel, served at the highest levels of the U.S. government in
Washington, D.C., and led the first AWACS deployment into Saudi Arabia following the fall of
the Shah of Iran.
Wayne is the author of many publications and articles in the fields of national security, political
science and history, and spoke at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum as a counterpoint to former
President Jimmy Carter. He is currently working on his third book and film regarding the
significance of the Iranian-Saudi standoff and what the Saudis are doing in Ethiopia and the
Horn of Africa to destabilize the region through Wahhabi proselytization.
